Pilates

"In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 you'll see the difference, and in 30 you'll have a new body..."     (Joseph H. Pilates)

What is Pilates? Pilates was developed in the 1920's by Joseph H. Pilates as a means to improve the rehabilitation of returning WWI veterans.  It is a form of exercise and overall body conditioning that incorporates posture, breathing, flexibility, balance and strengthening.  By focusing specifically on abdominal control, pelvic stabilization, and neutral spine - what Pilates calls the "Powerhouse" - a person is taught to stabilize the trunk while moving the arms and legs freely.  The result is improved strength and flexibility, and correction of body imbalances and poor movement patterns that have caused injuries.   The long-term goal is to produce a lean, lithe physique, proper body alignment, and balance!
