Nancy Bonifer, MSPT
     Nancy joined Performax January 2011. She received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 1992, and has completed advanced training in the Neurodevelopmental Treatment Approach (NDT).  Nancy has also published several research studies and articles, primarily in the area of neurological rehabilitation. She enjoys working with all diagnoses including orthopedic, vestibular, and neurologic. Nancy loves being a physical therapist because she gets to work with people and is always learning something new. 
    Taking advantage of all the fun outdoor activities Colorado has to offer, Nancy stays active trail running, camping, mountain biking and telemark skiing. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their wonderful children!
 
 
Jennifer Cannon, MPT
    Jenny joined the Performax team in January, 2007. She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas February 2002 with a Masters of Physical Therapy.  Jenny has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics since graduation with an emphasis in manual therapy for the spine and extremities, postoperative rehabilitation, and sports injuries.  She has continued her education in manual therapy, and recently received her certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling.
    Jenny became  interested in physical therapy in high school and college after learning more about the discipline through involvement in sports.  She also has a bachelors degree in Zoology from Texas Tech University.
     Outside of work, Jenny enjoys all the Colorado outdoor activities; snowboarding, biking, hiking, and camping.
 
 

Carolyn (DiCarlo) Chenoweth, MSPT, CMPT
    Carolyn grew up in "the biggest little state in the Union", Rhode Island.  She attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, followed by graduate work in Ithaca's PT program in Rochester, receiving a Masters in Physical Therapy  September, 2000.  Relocating to Colorado, she began her career in outpatient orthopedics while continuing to expand her skills in various fields. 
    Certified in Pilates for rehabilitation through Polestar, Carolyn is also a Certified Manual Therapist through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy.  She is a Certified Clinical Instructor, working with students from around the nation during their clinical affiliations, and is a member of the Sports Medicine Society of the US Figure Skating Association (still lacing up her figure skates on occasion). She has a special interest in working with dancers and skaters since figure skating and basic ballet were her favorite activities for many years.
     Currently, Carolyn spends her spare time training for long-distance trail and street racing, climbing 14'ers, skiing, and learning Combat Hapkido.  She has recently taken up cycling and swimming, with ambitions to participate in triathlons.  Carolyn transfers her passion for running to the clinical setting by performing running evaluations and rehabilitation for runners of all ages and abilities. She joined the Performax team November, 2008. 
 

Chris Fahs, MSPT
     Chris received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL) in 2000, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University (Downers Grove, IL) in 2004.  He has been working in the outpatient orthopedic setting for the past seven years, and joined the Performax team in June, 2011 when he relocated to Colorado from Illinois.
     Chris is personally committed to advancing his clinical skills and is currently working toward certification in manual therapy through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and Strain Counterstrain through the Jones Institute. He emphasizes a thorough and evidence-based examination with his patients in order to get to the "root" of each patient's pain or functional impairment. He has a passion for working with each of his patients and could not imagine a more rewarding profession than physical therapy.
     Chris enjoys running and has completed several marathons and other shorter distances. Together, he and his wife also enjoy exploring new restaurants, scuba diving, yoga, downhill skiing, biking, hiking and camping.   
   
 
Kris LaValley, MSPT, ATC
    Kris received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Kinesiology in 1993.  She was a student athletic trainer for three years and traveled with the women's volleyball team.  She received her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 1996, and has worked in several states in both inpatient and outpatient rehab.  Kris has focused on outpatient orthopedics and rehabilitation for the past 10 years, and joined Performax in June, 2007.  She has extensive experience in the treatment of vestibular disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's.   
    An aquatic aerobics instructor, Kris also enjoys running, yoga, and long walks with her yellow lab.  Currently in private Pilates training, Kris  plans to include these principles in her practice.  She also designed shoulder screening for local firefighters as a part of their pre-screening evaluation.  She has a passion for working with people and empowering patients to improve the quality of their life. Kris and her husband hope to instill in their two children the importance of physical wellness!
 

 Chris Neu, RN, CMT
    Chris started with Performax in 2005.  She is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Massage Therapist, graduating in 1998 from the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado.  She specializes in Swedish and deep tissue massage,  neuromuscular therapy, and has completed courses in a variety of other massage techniques.  She utilizes methods that meet the specific needs of her clients.  Chris believes that massage therapy should be considered "preventative health maintenance", not a luxury.
    Chris received an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Nursing from Arapahoe County Community College in 1991, and has been working at Swedish Medical Center on the Neuroscience & Spine units for over 17 years.  When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, walking 
her dog, and reading.   
 

 
Jen Vogler, DPT
    Jen received her Bachelor's Degree in psychology from the University of Vermont in 2006, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UVM in 2008. She relocated to Colorado after graduation and has enjoyed working in outpatient orthopedics in the Denver area, joining the Performax team in October 2010.
    Jen's experience is in general outpatient orthopedics and she utilizes manual techniques in combination with therapeutic exercises as a focus in her treatments. She would like to continue her studies and plans to work towards an orthopedic clinical specialist certification in the near future.
     In her free time, Jen can usually be found enjoying all that the Colorado mountains have to offer including hiking, snowboarding, and kayaking. 
 
 
 

Stephen Warfel, DPT, MTC, CFMT        
    Steve has been with Performax since April, 2006. specializing in manual therapy with emphasis on the spine.  His training began at Penn State University where he worked with the varsity strength coach for two years, focusing on strength and agility research, assisting the Center for Sports Medicine in a study for the U.S. Army that measured the effects of strength training on female metabolic markers.    
    Steve received his Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. His studies focused on advanced mobilization of the spine and extremities integrated with muscular and nervous system re-education.
    An avid cyclist and outdoorsman, Steve competes in mountain biking and
mountain climbing.
